Every semester we offer a wide array of innovative and exciting courses in American Indian and Indigenous Studies. We also are one of the few institutions that allows students to fulfill foreign language requirements with a Native language. Learn more about courses in Cherokee language here. In addition, we have forged ties with faculty specializing in the indigenous peoples of Latin America to bring a hemispheric component to the major and minor. Courses focused on Indigenous peoples outside of the present-day borders of the United States that can be counted as an elective toward the major concentration may be granted upon request and review.
