    Courses in American Indian Studies

Every semester we offer a wide array of innovative and exciting courses in American Indian Studies. We also are one of the few institutions that allows students to fulfill foreign language requirements with a Native language. Learn more about courses in Cherokee language here. In addition, we have forged ties with faculty specializing in the indigenous peoples of Latin America to bring a hemispheric component to the major concentration and minor. A list of the courses focused on indigenous peoples outside of the present-day borders of the United States that can be counted as an elective toward the major concentration or minor can be found here.

For a complete listing of permanent AIS courses and descriptions, visit the
Undergraduate Bulletin or the American Studies site.
