    Graduate Work

Several departments at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill feature nationally recognized faculty with strengths in American Indian Studies.

Click on the following links to learn more about graduate programs in American Studies, Anthropology, History, Folklore, and English and Comparative Literature.

You can submit your application electronically via the Graduate School website.

Our membership in the Newberry Consortium in American Indian Studies (NCAIS) further connects UNC faculty and students to individuals working in universities across the United States and Canada.

Headquartered at the Newberry Library’s D’Arcy McNickle Center for American Indian and Indigenous Studies, the NCAIS offers a summer institute and spring workshop for graduate students, faculty and student research fellowships, and an annual conference.
